| When David Whittaker joined the Marines Corp in 1973, he had no idea he would end up injured, out of a job, and eventually homeless. The sad reality is that veterans are five times more likely to become homeless, with an astounding 400,000 American veterans losing their homes every year. With only 7,688 beds offered by the Department of Veteran Affairs, many of these veterans have resorted to living under bridges, creek beds, and back alleys. To bring awareness to this increasing problem, David Whittaker plans to journey over 5,000 miles cross country in a wheelchair. Traveling from Key West, Florida to Blaine, Washington, David will be meeting people and promoting his cause all while towing in a small trailer a 50' x 80' American flag to remind people of the sacrifices his fellow veterans made for this country. To help this worthy cause, BrickHouse Security and Lightning GPS have teamed up to donate a free Livewire FastTrac GPS Tracker so followers can track his progress cross country. You can stay upto date every morning when you listen online at from 7am til 9am Mondaty thru Friday at Gi Radio Network |
